REIKI – there is no single person who invented this ancient, or perhaps even more accurately, prehistoric, method of healing the mind and body by tuning the flow of Universal Life Energy (Prana). The word REIKI comes from two Japanese words: REI, meaning “soul,” and KI, meaning “energy.” Combined, they can be understood as “Spiritual Life Energy” or the “Universal Life Energy” we use. We also use the term “Love Energy” interchangeably, as the source of this energy is unconditional Love, which resides within us and surrounds everything around us.
The practice of REIKI is based on removing blockages and attuning the flow of Universal Life Energy through the seven main chakras (energy centers) located along the body, beginning with the root chakra, located between the thighs, and ending with the crown chakra, located just above the head. Harmonized energy flowing from the chakras through the meridians (energy channels) plays a crucial role in our physical and emotional health. REIKI is used in working with people, animals, and plants.
The modern discoverer of REIKI is considered to be the Japanese monk MIKAO USUI, born in 1865. Through his initiation into REIKI, he became the first known person to begin healing and sharing this practice with others. By creating his practice, USUI REIKI RYOHO, Mikao Usui established five REIKI principles, the observance of which is fundamental for those practicing this method, and especially for REIKI teachers.
Today, there are many different REIKI practices that differ in various technical and practical aspects, but all are based on the principles established by Mikao Usui.
Our REIKI practice is a collection of experiences and knowledge derived from exploring many REIKI schools, enriched by our intuition and the kindness and love flowing from our hearts. We have also incorporated various exercises and methods into our practice so that our clients and students have better access to the skills of practicing the REIKI lifestyle and Loving Kindness in today’s world.
